Actor Tom Hanks will make a guest appearance in American television comedy series 30 Rock that comes on NBC.
"Radioman delivers message from Tina Fey. Result? I'm on '30 Rock'!" Hanks confirmed the news on microblogging site Twitter.
The 54-year-old is one of the growing number of A-listers to make a cameo on the show created by Tina Fey. Earlier Whoopi Goldberg, Susan Sarandon, Matt Damon, Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey featured in it.
30 Rock is a comedy created by Tina Fey that is loosely based on Fey's experiences as head writer for Saturday Night Live. 30 Rock takes place behind the scenes of a fictional live sketch comedy series depicted as airing on NBC; the name 30 Rock refers to the address of the GE Building where NBC Studios is located, 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
Although details of Hanks’s part in the series are not confirmed and speculations are that he may play himself just like other star appearances on the show.
However, if he plays a different character then this will be Hanks’s first TV appearance in a long time after he appeared as alcoholic Uncle Ned in a couple of episodes of Family Ties in early 1980s.
