Amy Adams to play feisty Lois Lane

Oscar-nominated actress Amy Adams who was last seen in The Fighter has been signed to play journalist Lois Lane in upcoming Superman film. The film will be a reboot version that will trace the origins of Superman right from the time he landed on Earth and is raised by foster parents.
Adams will join the cast comprising of Henry Cavill who plays the title role and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane who play Superman’s parents. Director Zack Snyder confirmed, “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful.”
The film is titled Superman: Man of Steel and is expected to release in December 2012. Shooting begins in Vancouver this summer.
