The last week running up to a release is all about mad rush. Dil To Bachcha Hai ji also followed suit and gave me a pair of roller skates to run from one city to another and one studio to another. The pace becomes a way of life– ask anybody from the promotion team and they would give you one hasty answer. This pace is really contagious; once you get into the mode all you begin to feel is what’s next on the agenda?
I can almost experience the same rush as I’m writing this. Thoughts are racing fast and my hand is failing to keep pace. So much for a film’s success. A lot of people have already watched the film and they feel very positive about it. They are all talking about Madhur venturing into this genre, the newcomers and the fun elements of the film. All these contribute to the team’s confidence and right now it’s very essential. I keep saying and I truly mean it, a lot of hard work goes into the making so any positive response is really taken with grace.
It’s been a rewarding experience shooting for this film. My role as a 38- year-old banker stuck amidst a divorce and young lass has been quite refreshing. There is a feel good aura around the team now, with of course fingers crossed. It’s yet another judgment day today.
Amidst the high octane routine what came as a wave of happiness is my wife’s achievement. She has received the Padma Shri and made us all proud. We geared up for an immediate celebration; my sisters and cousins were home so we broke into some good merry-making.
